A+K obtained planning permission and oversaw the construction of a small scale residential extension to the rear of this Edwardian terraced property.
​
The extension provides a small garden room with dining table, just off the kitchen. The design maximises the connection between inside and out through triple bi-fold doors, corner glazing and a large rooflight. The structural steel column in the corner was brought away from the corner of the extension to emphasise the lightness of the glazing. Floor tiles to match the kitchen were used in order to link the spaces seamlessly.
New decking was constructed around the garden room to provide a level access into part of the garden space for one of the occupants of the property who uses a wheelchair.
