The owner of the ground floor flat of this terraced property in West Hampstead approached A+K to obtain an amendment to an existing planning application, undertake detailed design and oversee the project to completion.
The project involved a complete re-organisation and refurbishment of the ground floor, including a modern rear extension which resulted in a fresh, light and vibrant two-bedroom flat with an open plan kitchen-living space. A+K undertook the kitchen design, the landscape design, and specified all the flooring, lighting, bathroom fixtures and bespoke doors.
The project management on site involved overcoming several issues found during construction including extensive structural work
in the basement found to be necessary once opening up works had been undertaken.
The original flat was dark, poorly laid out and outdated. One key element of the project was to move the living space to the rear and provide a sunny white rendered courtyard garden to reflect the light back into the space. The results of this have created a bright space with calming neutral tones, offset by highlights of copper in the kitchen and feature lighting.
