A+K were approached by a private client to undertake a feasibility study for the redevelopment of a large and dilapidated church hall in need of substantial repair. A+K investigated the existing structure on the site with the help of structural consultants and it was concluded that the structure was not safe to retain. The final feasibility proposals therefore looked at rebuilding the existing structure to contain the original church hall at ground floor level.
An additional 3 levels above this would contain individual domestic units with the intention of generating the cost of the construction from the lease of these flats to pay for the much needed redevelopment of the ground floor parish centre. This scheme is currently being considered by the client subject to funding.
